Cara is an online class attendance system built for how schools actually work. School approval comes first
School approval required: Before downloading Cara or registering the school in it, your school must apply for approval by sending an application on its official letterhead to admin@iform365.co.za. The application must be signed by the principal or an authorised school official and include the school’s name, EMIS number, and district. After approval, the school will receive an email confirming its approval and allowing it to download Cara. If a school has not applied for and received approval, Cara will not allow the user to register that school in the app. This security measure helps prevent unauthorised registrations made in a school’s name.

Capturing daily attendance
- Easy online attendance capture by teachers from their own private and secure dashboards.
- Learner validation helps ensure that attendance is submitted for the correct learner.

- Teachers can download and print up-to-date class lists from their dashboards.
Parent notifications
- Parents can be notified of a learner’s absence on the day it occurs, by WhatsApp or email, according to the school’s communication policy and applicable requirements.
- The school principal can also receive a daily email with the names of absent learners and the recorded reasons for their absence.
School app administration
- Simple, guided steps for registering learners individually or in bulk.
- Bulk registration allows up to 200 learners to be copied at a time.
- Simple, guided steps for deregistering learners or moving them to another class.
- Print pre-populated hard-copy class registers whenever needed to support online attendance recording.
- Print daily, weekly or quarterly attendance summary reports in the format required by the education department.
- Learner attendance is archived in the cloud at the end of each term and can be retrieved easily.
Preparing for the next academic year
- Learners who have been enrolled for the next academic year can be captured in Cara during the current year.
- Before the new academic year begins, accepted enrolments can be imported as registered learners, helping schools have their class registers ready from day one.

- A handy overview keeps administrators and staff up to date with current learner totals by class, sex and school.
